My name is Jay Sexton. I have been advising clients since 2014 on topics including household budgeting, investing, taxes, insurance, retirement, estate planning, and financial counseling, with a particular focus on financial literacy and behavioral change. I am an instructor of business, economics, and finance at Millikin University, and I hold an MBA along with a graduate certificate in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University, where I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. I am also the author of Bleeding for Ghosts: A Memoir of Money, Identity, and Margin, with a second book forthcoming in 2026.

For fun I like to hike, forage for mushrooms, read, write, and I'm a licensed pyrotechnician!
